This great event was also witnessed by our Board Members, namely: Hon. Nancy Madjos, Hon. Say-say Emano, Hon. Boboy Sabal, Hon. Leonard Winstaley. and Chairman on Transportation,Hon. Dexter Yasay who gave a brief speech about the importance of these vehicles. Present in the event as well is Hon. Bebing Dumadag who gave a glorious speech on behalf of Hon. Peter M. Unabia Vice-Mayor of Gingoog city, who unfortunately could not be there at said event. These tools were also blessed by the Parish Priest of San Nicolas De Tolentino, Malagana Claveria, Fr. Eleuterio Datoy.

The idea of a multipurpose vehicle emerged in the mind of our governor when he had heard of an incident about a pregnant lady in the outskirts needing an emergency vehicle to take her to the hospital for her to give birth. Unfortunately the town at that time did not yet have such official vehicles, thus the pregnant lady had to resort to riding a habal-habal(motor cycle) in order to get to the nearest hospital. It was in the dead of the night when the place was dark and the vehicle accidentally run over a large rock, which threw both the driver and the pregnant lady off of it, leading to the pregnant lady having her head colliding with another rock, resulting to the deaths of both the mother and her unborn child. This incident pained our governor greatly and he promised to himself that he would give the barangays in his governance an official vehicle so that this unfortunate incident never happens to anyone ever again.

Given as well were four (4) lawnmowers to add assistance to the barangays.

Thus, the turnover and the blessing of this multi-purpose vehicles signifies the great partnership between these noble leaders as well as their similar drive towards serving our people. These multipurpose vehicles not only allow for the barangays to have an always ready vehicle for official matters, but it could also serve as an emergency vehicle if an unexpected situation occurs. There are several uses for such vehicles that render its presence in each barangay exceedingly crucial.
